Inspirational words and music
Its a reminder at the moment with all the catastrophic events happening around the world, that in fact we are not in control, no matter how hard we try.
This song shares this realization beautifully. (featured below)
Surrender
by Gaura Vani
Twenty-five years of doing it my way, has brought me here.
The road behind me is littered with the ruins,
Decisions made in fear.
“But don’t be afraid,”
The Lord has so sweetly said,
And depending on his word,
I will surrender, surrender, surrender, surrender
(da da da da da da…)
My habitual desire to control, I now abandon.
And from my schemes so carefully conceived,
I release everyone.
And in humility,
Set you free from me.
My playing God is over.
Now I surrender, surrender, surrender, surrender
(da da da da da da…)
I pray to be a bow, upon my life, affix an arrow,
A dazzling weapon of Your will.
Like the poet says, “Let that string that sings be mine.”
And as a simple tool of your design.
Remember, remember
Pretender, pretender
Surrender, surrender
Hope to see you at Gaura Purnima Festival Saturday.

Gaura Purnima Festival
This festival is to celebrate the anniversary of the appearance of Sri Krishna Chaitanya, the ‘golden Avatar’ of Krishna.
Sri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu appeared in this world in 1486, in Mayapur, West Bengal, India.
Lord Chaitanya is glorified as being the most munificent Lord, because He freely distributed life’s most precious gift — pure love of Godhead.
He is praised as being the most merciful Lord because He distributes His mercy without discrimination to all, without any consideration of whether one is qualified or not.
Although He is the Supreme Lord, Krishna, He posed as a devotee, and revealed the most sublime sentiments and the natural disposition of a devotee. He taught us by His own example how to establish a connection with the Lord through the practice of pure devotion.
He spread the Yuga-dharma, or the practice most recommended for the attainment of pure love for Sri Sri Radha-Krishna. That process is Harinam Sankirtan, or the congregational chanting of the Holy Names of the Lord:
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
