Friday 25th October – Govardhan Puja with HH Dayananda Swami Maharaj

‘Everyday is a festival when it comes to Krishna, but some are extra special’

This festival celebrates the pastime of Lord Krishna lifting Govardhana Hill on His little finger for seven days to protect the residents of Vrindavana from torrential rains sent by the demigod, Indra. To celebrate this festival, devotees build a replica of Govardhana Hill made with various opulent foods, worship Lord Krishna as the lifter of Govardhana Hill, worship the Hill as His incarnation, and worship the cows and bulls who are dear to Him. After the worship of the Hill, the food items that make up the Hill is distributed to everyone to relish.

We have the great fortunate that His Holiness Dayananda Swami maharaj will be present as our special guest, a renounced teacher a long time practitioner of Bhakti Yoga, sharing his knowledge and many years of practice.

Chanting of Hare Krishna, free vegetarian/veghan feast and since we are in the month of Kartik candle offerings to Lord Damodar will be there too.

Phoenix Centre, Brighton @ 7:30pm

See you all there. Hare Krishna
