This Friday we will be hearing about an essential topic in Bhakti Yoga philosophy, 'Jiva Tattva'.
Local senior devotee, His Grace Vishnu das prabhu will share his extensive knowledge and kindly give a talk on the nature of the Self, the living entity (Jiva), that underscores the spiritual identity, purpose, and potential of every living being.
'The personal expansions (of Krishna) are known as Vishnu-Tattva, and the separated expansions are known as Jiva Tattva. Although the Jivas (living entities) are part and parcel of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, they are still counted among His multipotencies. This is fully described by Lord Krishna in the Bhagavad-gita (7.5):
apareyam itas tv anyam prakrtim viddhi me param
jiva-bhutam maha-baho yayedam dharyate jagat
"Besides this inferior nature, O mighty-armed Arjuna, there is another, superior energy of Mine, which comprises the living entities who are exploiting the resources of this material, inferior nature."'
(CC Madhya 29.9 purport)
Join us to learn about this key understanding from the ancient Bhakti-Texts, on the science of the soul, the secret to true happiness and the ultimate goal of life.
Also, as usual we will have Kirtan (chanting with musical instruments) -the most effective method of self-realisation for this age- and finish with a Veggie/Vegan Spiritual Feast.
We look forward to seeing you there!
