This Friday, local senior devotee, His Grace Trilokanath das prabhu will be introducing us and guiding us through the important and stunning collection of prayers known as the 'Brahma Samhita'.
Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the Golden Avatar of Krishna, over 500 years ago, acquired the Fifth Chapter of the Brahma-samhita from the Adi-keshava temple in South India and is part of a larger text that has been lost in the eons of time. Sri Brahma-samhita is a collection (samhita) of prayers spoken by Brahma at the beginning of material creation, after the Supreme Person, Krishna, gave Brahma a divine vision of the spiritual world. Brahma, in his amazement, speaks volumes of divinely inspired praise before beginning his work of creation.
In 1970, George Harrison created a contemporary recording of these prayers, performed by the Radha Krishna Temple devotees in London, called "Govinda" and is still sung in Temples all over the world every morning.
This will be a fascinating and uplifting introduction to this esoteric text and as usual we will also have Kirtans (chanting with musical instruments) and finish with a Veggie/Vegan Spiritual Feast. don't miss it!
We look forward to seeing you there!
