Wednesday 11th December - Gita Jayanti

The Bhagavad-Gita is an ancient sacred text and considered a summary of all Vedic philosophical teachings.

The Gita was spoken by Lord Krishna Himself to His best friend Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, 5,000 years ago. The Bhagavad-Gita, literally means "The Lord’s Song" and is understood as a conversation between Krishna and Arjuna but meant for the whole world’s benefit.

On the anniversary day (or close to), devotees gather to recite all 700 verses together remembering this sacred conversation between the Lord and His dear devotee.

We are holding our Gita Jayanti recitation on Wednesday 11th December setting up at 18.45 and starting promptly at 19.00 - 22.00. Together we will read the english translation only (for the sake of time) on this joyous occasion but please note - we won't have time for our usual prasadam (blessed food) feast, other than snacks so please take your evening meal before you come.

If you have a Bhagavada Gita please bring it along although some will be available on the night.

See you then - Srimad Bhagavad Gita ki jaya! Srila Prabhupada ki jaya!

BMECP centre, near to the rear of Brighton's train station - 10 Fleet St, Brighton, BN1 4ZE.
